An android powered musical keyboard… is the “internet of things” finally arriving?
There are some wonderful apps out there, but do they actually get used? What constitutes a ‘critical app’ for you?
On the Nokia E55 I used to keep with me at all times, despite also having iPhones, Android’s, Blackberries and Windows Phones on a regular rotation - I was always conscious that the device came with all the critical apps I could ever need already there. Ovi store downloads don’t match Apple’s App Store, but that’s because you need to visit the Apple App Store to get your phone to do the things that you can do out-of-the-box on a Nokia Symbian device. Windows and Android show similar traits. They come with most of what you need.
Android is taking over the world… could it be that even some iPhone users have seen the (superAMOLED) light?!
You can keep your iPhone 4S hype… because apparently ‘Something BIG is coming’ from Samsung… it looks like a super-thin, curvy screened slice of Android goodness. Could it be the rumoured ‘Nexus Prime’?
I think Sony’s new Tablet P is a much more interesting and potentially ground breaking development than anything Apple’s come up with for a long while. What do you think?
HTC’s 1st Beats Audio Android device, the Sensation XE announced. Pre-order now from Expansys
“For obvious reasons Google has long-trumpeted the notion that brands should create a mobile optimised site first before developing a costly iPhone app”.
Sally Shearman @ The Wall muses on the death of native apps.
Android devices have given you 3D screens, super-fast dual-core processors, 8MP cameras, hardware-accelerated gaming and much more - but it’s about time to bring decent quality audio into the mix…. HTC have reportedly invested $300m in Beats by Dre sound tech, so expect some powerful bass reponse from your next HTC smartphone. Finally.. dubstep on the move might be a realistic proposition ;-)
(you might need to ditch those lossy 256KB VBR MP3s from Amazon MP3 store though)
Easy HTML5 webapps for recording artists - a great step on from iPhone apps which only work on the now outdated iOS platform? Well it would be if it worked on Android too, but it doesn’t seem to. Darn it.
Ooooooooo… it’s like the future!
HTC catch-up with LG by creating a mobile with a ‘glasses-free’ 3D display and dual-lens camera, leaving Apple’s iPhone in the dust…
Where are ‘Made for Android’ earphones? | DVICE
Wander into any electronics store and you’ll soon come face-to-face with a wall of “Made for iPhone” accessories, especially earphones. Now, look around the store and find the “Made for Android” accessories area. No, go ahead. I’ll wait.
